Tree Pollens

All it takes for the oak tree to start making pollen is four to five days with temperatures in the 60’s. It may be in the 40’s or 50’s in northeast Alabama, but it can be in the 60’s on the coast. Next time that you look at the weather report on TV, notice how the prevailing winds usually go from southwest to northeast. This brings wind from southern Louisiana, southern Mississippi and southern Alabama right up the Appalachian chain to our area. It can be the dead of winter in northeast Alabama and yet spring pollens begin showing up.
